As you know, I write these posts or op/eds for the purpose sharing truth with you all, and to keep you well-informed. This time, however, it becomes a bit more personal. A very good friend of mine who lives in California (I know…she would love to leave that state as well) informed me last week about a very disturbing situation in her grandson’s elementary school.
This very bright, and I might add, patriotic eight-year-old was angered and offended that his school announced the formation of new club called “UBU” (you be you) aimed at the LGBTQ++++ students. You’re probably thinking what I’m thinking – an elementary school??? My friend’s daughter-in-law immediately sent an email to the school principal. After the cursory reply from the principal, my friend asked me to help craft a letter for the principal, as well as the superintendent of the school district. The following is that letter
I am addressing this email to both of you, [Principal of Pleasant Grove Elementary School & Superintendent of Elk Grove Unified School District] and would like acknowledgment that you read it and your reply.
What is the primary objective of public schools? Until a few years ago, the majority of Americans thought the objective was for the children to have access to a quality education that enables them to achieve their potential and fully participate now and in the future in the social, economic, and educational opportunities of our state and nation. Secondly, it was also an objective to have parents/grandparents to become full partners with educators in the education of their children.
Sadly, schools have rapidly started to deviate from the core mission of educating kids in the basic things they need to exist in society—READING, MATH, SCIENCE, and HISTORY—and the pandemic in particular gave a lot of parents a window into what their kids are being taught and realized a lot of it looks like political indoctrination, i.e. CRT, gender studies etc.
Today’s school curriculums have found a replacement for civics in our school—Critical Race Theory (CRT). Radical educators try to re-write history, distort the truth, question one’s gender, and provoke more division and hate in our country. Look, history is history. We can’t change or erase what has already taken place. We can’t cancel it! Radical educators either speak and write about history with distorted mistruths, or they completely ignore history and the valuable lessons it provides. Why not tell all the facts—the good, bad, and ugly of our history, as it really happened? The author and poet Maya Angelou wrote, “History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.”
And don’t get me started about the absolute failure of Common Core. Instead of respecting students’ different levels of effort, ability, and individual strengths and interests, CC forces teachers to “teach to the test” and drill students with the same materials, so the entire class has at least a basic level of proficiency.
But perhaps the most ludicrous stunt the NEA and the corrupt teachers’ unions have implemented is the comprehensive LGBTQ+ (believe me, they have added a lot more letters so nobody is left out) agenda. This insane agenda includes indoctrination of children about transgender initiatives through curriculum and storybooks that plant seeds of gender confusion in the children and push the deceptive idea that children can choose their gender. This is child abuse and is akin to the “grooming” that pedophiles effectuate on vulnerable children.
These inappropriate gender studies are flooding American’s kindergarten classrooms in radical ways. Drag queens are performing story time for young children in libraries and some schools, where they read books about gender identity like Sparkle Boy and Jacob’s New Dress. They’re not simply reading stories to the children—their reading is enhanced with provocative and sensual gestures and innuendos, totally inappropriate for any school-age child. Many kindergarteners don’t yet know how to tie their shoes, let along read. Teachers should focus on these basics instead of promoting identity confusion that may never have become an issue in the child’s existence.
What makes this whole scheme even more heinous is many school districts now have policies in place that not only allow but require teachers and administrators to withhold information from parents concerning gender identity issues of the student and/or the goings-on about this agenda on the part of school authorities. These policies to subvert parental rights to oversee the education and care of their children represent a deceptive overreach by our public schools and is a clear violation of the equal protection requirement of the Fourteenth Amendment.
With all this diversion to honing in on the most important subjects on which to teach, (reading, writing, math, history, science, civics) the math and reading proficiency scores are dismal. Currently, Pleasant Grove Elementary School currently has 55% proficiency in math, and 59% proficiency in reading. Pleasant Grove Elem. ranking Are you really proud of those statistics? Compare that to Pine View Elementary School in Osprey, Florida who has a proficiency score of 99% in BOTH math and reading! Pine View ranking Yes, it can be done when you focus on education, instead of indoctrination.
Our two grown children attended Pleasant Grove Elementary and back then it was a family-oriented, wholesome, God loving country school. There were families with different religions and everyone respected their beliefs. NOTHING was pushed down our throats and made to accept it OR pay the consequences. This is where we are now…A MESSED UP, DIVISIVE SOCIETY, WHERE SCHOOLS TEACH HATE AND EVIL, ALL THE WHILE CONCEALING IT FROM PARENTS.
This brings me to the crux of this letter. We are grandparents of an eight year old boy who attends Pleasant Grove Elementary School. On January 23rd, 2024, as he was being picked up after school, he informed his mother that PGES had formed a “club” that panders to LGBTQ++++ called UBU. Call it what it is! It is a grooming parlor! My goodness, all this flag bearing, bathroom sharing, club forming, inappropriate teaching time nonsense is all done for a tiny percentage of people. Only 7.1% of the entire US population fall into this category. All these efforts go to a few, while the majority has to be negatively impacted.
What is even more heinous is the fact that parents were NOT informed about the formation of this club. Our daughter-in-law wrote the principal of PGES about her outrage. As of this writing she has not received a response. However, the principal did respond to another infuriated parent stating. “ THERE WAS AN INTENTION TO ANNOUNCE IT WITH THE JANUARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER BUT IT GOT LOST IN THE BACK TO SCHOOL SHUFFLE OF ITEMS, BUT IT WILL BE IN THE FEBRUARY GAZETTE.” Yeah, this is like “my dog ate my homework!” This is the lamest excuse…no, it is purely BS.
Get ready for a flood of letters from parents and concerned citizens who value the education of their children—but not from depraved and corrupt teachers union that currently exists. And to think our tax dollars fund this garbage! And you wonder why school choice is becoming more and more popular? LEAVE OUR CHILDREN’S SEXUALITY OUT OF THE CLASSROOM! Teach the basics, and may God forgive you!
Well, the superintendent has yet to respond, but the principal did in her usual perfunctory blah, blah, blah manner with this: “Thank you for the email. I have received and read it. The majority of your email has to do with things at the legislative level. I encourage you and your family to stay informed as a citizen and follow proposed legislation so that you may utilize the public comment portion and let your thoughts be known to our CA state legislators prior to bills and laws passing and then trickling down to CA schools. Have a wonderful day.”
However, there is some good news. The dismayed parents demanded a meeting with the school to address this matter. Many more parents showed up to the meeting than expected, causing the principal and another school administrator to take a step back and suggested to re-schedule the meeting. However, the uproar of the parents resulted in the meeting happening right then. My friend’s daughter-in-law, who happens to be a successful and very qualified Licensed Marriage & Family Counselor, addressed the principal et.al in a well-researched and powerful hour-plus speech, that left them speechless.
The fight is not over, and victory cannot yet be claimed. But, this was a prime example of what can happen when we stand up to the immorality and evil that our public schools are spewing on our children. The school and district has had their cage rattled, and it will only get louder. My hat is off to my friend and her courageous and God-fearing family for fighting like David did against and evil giant. Pray for victory in this battle, as in all others we face.
Moreover David said, “The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:37

I applaud you, as usual, for standing up for the beliefs that many hold and are either unaware of what is going on or fearful of speaking up. Thank God for people like your “friends” who took a stand when it was most needed. Stand strong, stay strong for Christ and His principles.
