It’s hard to ignore the dilapidation of our society in America and the rest of the world when it seems the intensification of such is at warp speed. Is the escalation of Satan’s desperate lunacy causing us to live in a spirit of expectation for Christ’s return, or precipitating emotional numbness?
“Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Matthew 24:44
Each day we are inundated with “breaking news” about wars, catastrophic events and lawlessness, etc. Which crisis has you most concerned? Is it the conflict and potential nuclear war between Israel and Iran? Could this possibly be the precursor to what God has told us in chapter 38 of Ezekiel?
Is it the paid domestic terrorists destroying our cities in their fight to protect illegal criminals who have invaded our nation? This is nothing new. Remember the Watts riots in Los Angeles in the summer of 1965. Then the Ferguson riots 2014 which was the infancy period of Black Lives Matter (BLM). These “peaceful” protests became fashionable every time a person of color was involved in police activity, regardless of the actual crimes committed.
But it reached new heights in the 2020 “Summer of love” following the death of career criminal George Floyd during his arrest. The level of looting, violence, and destruction of businesses and other structures not only affected Minneapolis, but spread to other major cities. The mob mentality fueled the flames, as it always does, as I explained in a previous SubStack post.
These senseless and costly acts of domestic terrorism have once again returned to LA and other cities. Yet, the Communist Mayor Bass and knucklehead Newscum have created and fostered and environment that actually perpetuates this behavior. In a state that promotes abortion; transgender mutilation; rampant homelessness, high gas & housing prices; lack of forest management; lack of water control; and a failing education system, no wonder this is the epicenter of violent protests.
Is it the complete radicalization of colleges and universities that has you concerned? Gone are the days of promoting freedom of thought and expression, where differing views are shared and debated. This approach to education has been replaced with groupthink, mistruths, and propagandizing our youth. This has resulted in violent protests supporting Hamas, the Iran-backed terrorist group who slaughtered Israeli men, women, and children on October 7, 2023. Sadly, if you asked some of the student protesters any facts about the purpose for their protests, they would likely fail to come up with sound reasons.
Is it the corrupt and biased judicial system where rogue DA’s and judges wield power to allow lawlessness and throw true accountability for actual crimes out the window? Under the Biden administration, crime when through the roof, yet prosecutions were nil. Now under Trump, the burgeoning nationwide injunctions on the part of biased judges epitomize an appalling threat to the American constitutional order.
Is it our lack of election integrity that has you most concerned? Even when there is glaring evidence of fraud and manipulation especially in the 2020 election, it is an uphill battle to have Congress and/or the state legislative bodies codify laws to ensure election integrity. Again, follow the money.
Speaking of money, is it the inability (or should I say refusal) of elected officials to reduce spending, root out the waste and inefficiency, and have our government (federal, state, & local) operate with a balanced budget. Again, they are unwilling and afraid to codify such legislation.
There are countless other issues, problems, and cataclysmic events about which we should be concerned, but you get the picture. Yet, we shouldn’t be surprised. Jesus warned us about it during His first coming.
“Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”
Matthew 24:7-8
When Christ shed His blood and was crucified on a wooden cross, He provided redemption for the sins of those who have placed their faith in Him. And through His resurrection, Jesus offers us the same resurrection and eternal life with Him.
Christ defeated death, and at the same time defeated Satan. However, Satan was defeated, but not yet destroyed…but that will take place! As promised, Jesus will return a second time, and that can’t happen soon enough! Hallelujah!
In the meantime, Satan is still wielding his power and is a real force in the world today. Just look around. His two chief weapons are fear and lies. God warns that we are not up against flesh and blood. This is a spiritual warfare. The Scriptures describe Satan as the bitterest enemy of God, and he is a cruel adversary. The Apostle Peter warned:
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
Satan has powerful influence in every nation of the world. He is the architect behind the entire system of evil that permeates a world dominated by lies, greed, lustful power, hatred, pride, brutality, immorality, and lawlessness.
Satan is desperate because he knows his time is short. So he is pulling out all the stops and pouring out lunacy for the vulnerable minions he has deceived to do his dirty work. So as we witness what appears to be the utter collapse of our society, fear not. Put your trust in the Lord and know that He will give us victory over this spiritual war.
“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.” Ephesians 6:13
